IIT Gandhinagar

Machine Intelligence and Resilience Laboratory

Research on climate risk, resilient infrastructure, complex systems, and physics-informed machine learning.

About MIR Lab

Research scope and approach

MIR Lab is an interdisciplinary research group at IIT Gandhinagar studying climate hazards and their effects on interconnected urban, ecological, and infrastructure systems. The group integrates hydrology, climate science, network science, remote sensing, and physics-informed machine learning. Its work spans fundamental methods, empirical analysis, and decision-support applications developed with public agencies.

01

Systems and risk analysis

Characterise how hazards propagate across infrastructure, mobility, ecosystems, and communities.

02

Methods and models

Develop models that combine physical constraints, observational data, uncertainty quantification, and network analysis.

03

Decision-support applications

Apply research through forecasts, scenarios, and planning tools for preparedness and response.
